BUSINESS CONSULTING

Expert perspective from someone who knows the business

Guidance for the questions that keep an operator up.

The decision in front of the operator does not have a textbook answer. Deciding whether to take on the big customer that would reshape the business; whether the new line is worth the capital; whether the team that got the business here can take it further — these are the calls an operator usually makes alone, with no one in the room to match experience.

At Arrowroot Business Advisors, you get a senior advisor who works the problem from inside the business. The same person who can read the finance function and run a transaction brings that context to the hard call. You get judgment that is specific to the business, available when the decision has to be made.

01

The first call

The engagement starts with a direct conversation about the problem the operator is wrestling with. The operator describes the situation and the senior advisor asks the questions that get to what is really at stake. By the end, the operator knows whether this is the right kind of help and what working through it together would look like.

02

Inside the business

The senior advisor learns the parts of the business the problem touches, and usually the parts around it too. The numbers, the team, the customers, and the operating model get reviewed for how they bear on the decision. The operator will feel confident that the problem has been well-assessed.

03

The plan

The way forward gets written plainly, sized to the decision at hand. The plan names the real question, the options, and the trade-offs the operator has to weigh. The operator reads it and has a path to a decision rather than a deck to interpret.

04

In the work

This is the problem being worked alongside the operator. The senior advisor stays in it through the analysis and the decision, coordinating with the existing team rather than working around them. In the end, the operator can reach call with judgment applied at every step, rather than receiving a recommendation at the end.

05

Through the next decision

The hard problems in a business rarely come one after another. At Arrowroot, the same advisor stays available for the next call, with the context already in place. The relationship is built so the operator can pick up the phone when the next hard decision lands.

The advisor you know ready when you need them.

When complicated decisions arise, an experienced advisor who understands the business and the larger financial picture is ready to help. They’ll dive into the situation, leveraging their current knowledge to help you make the big decisions. No time wasted onboarding or updating, just a senior advisor ready to go.

You can rely on having someone you trust when the business reaches its next inflection point. That's where Outsourced CFO meets M&A Advisory and Exit Planning. These teams each carry a concentrated client load and do the work themselves, with depth across both operating and transaction finance.

M&A Advisory

Sits beside the operating finance work rather than off on its own track. The senior advisor running the business through the deal is the one who has been in the numbers alongside the operator all along. That advisor already knows the business well enough to know what is worth holding the line on at the term sheet.

Business Consulting

Sits in the space between the numbers and the key decisions that will direct the future of the business. Because the same advisor oversees the finance function and the deals, their advice accounts for where the business is heading as much as where it stands today.

Exit Planning

Sits at the far end of the operating relationship, where the years of finance work either pay off or come up short. It’s founded in the strategy, execution, reporting, margins, and clean financials a buyer will underwrite. The same advisor who built the finance function is the one who readies it for the day a buyer looks closely.
